A list of emergency phone numbers for the Khao Lak area is at the bottom of this page
Several clinics are available in the Khao Lak and Bang Niang area – as well as a regional hospital in Takuapa and two International Hospitals in Phuket. For serious medical issues the international hospitals in Phuket are probably your best bet.
Bangkok Hospital Phuket had opened an “information” office in Bang Niang, but it now seems to be closed – though you can still access their facilities on Phuket. They can be contacted at by calling 1719 from the Phang Nga area. No prefix – just those four numbers. You can locate the Bang Niang office on the map to the right at N-4/N-5 – but it is no longer there.
Phuket International Hospital is in process of a complete upgrade of their facilities on Phuket and also offer excellent care. You can contact them at 076-210-935.

For medical care of trauma from motorcycle or other types of accidents, most Thai hospitals have lots of experience in that area – the hospital in Takuapa probably provides care as good as anywhere else. Their number is on the list above – but their ability to communicate well in English is not guaranteed.
The maps and scans on this page have been provided by a free map available in Khao Lak – pick it up and use it when you are in the area.
